Basquiat

A portrait of Jean-Michel Basquiat, an incredible artist who has influenced so many people in ways they may not even know about.

In the documentary The Radiant Child they speak about how Basquiat, living with his girlfriend at the time and supporting them both, would paint on all sorts of found objects. I loved that so much so decided it was appropriate to frame this piece in a salvaged old pool triangle.

I was commissioned to document and share the making of this piece to share on the official Instagram account stories. It was a showcase of this then-new feature they were introducing back in 2016.
